Mainly in the hilly areas such as Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya, Sikkim, etc. April to May is the peak month of harvesting peach crop. They reach good color and hard flesh showing that they are ready for harvest.

Under normal conditions a peach tree requires 35 – 40 gallons of water per day during July – August. Peach trees do best in a spot with full sun, atleast 6 hours per day. It grows well in light loamy soils which is well deemed.
