Soil type – loamy soil is preferred for the growth of trees.Durian trees grow best in a rich, deep, well-drained sandy clay or clay loam (deep alluvial or loamy soil), high in organic matter, pH range of 6 – 7.

Fertilizer – Durian tree growth and fruiting shall have better growth, fruit yield and flesh taste if applied with NPK compound granular fertilizers with presence of trace elements or micro-nutrients.
